I like this picture because its artsy of a guy reading in a jar, it stands out over all. 
This girl looks like she is pulling the clouds with her, she looks free.
I like that she is blurry in the back and the stars blowing off are the main subject. 
Its all dark on the outside of the pepper then once the girl is walking out of it, its all bright and sunny like a new world. 
I like the color of her eye makeup and the feather perfectly inline with the makeup.

1: Have props to bring the photo more alive.
2: you don't have to be happy, you can show fear, tears, or anger
3: have different lighting on different selfies
4: try to include things that describe you or your hobbies in it
5: you can include some people in your pictures to make it look well
